Belfort Group (BG) was hired to develop a communications plan to integrate Bay Path University’s traditional undergraduate and graduate programs, its One-Day-a-Week program for students working toward their degree at their own pace, and its online degree program, The American Women’s College. BG capitalized on three groundbreaking announcements that catapulted Bay Path University onto the national stage: 1. The University’s change of status from a college to a university, 2. A 3.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education, and 3. President Dr. Carol Leary’s invitation to the White House College Opportunity Summit to visit with President Obama.
BG developed a message guide and story ideas, then drafted and pitched media alerts and press releases for the three major announcements to local, national and international outlets.
We secured two op-eds on behalf of the university plus six meetings with top tier national and Boston media outlets to introduce Dr. Carol Leary and the Bay Path story, including Inside Higher Ed, The Boston Globe, Good Morning America and The Wall Street Journal. BG secured 15 online and print placements totaling 72,349,361 impressions and 5 broadcast placements reaching over 363,000,000 households.
