Reactive Sourcing around Breaking News Coverage for Boston Law Firm Posternak Blankstein & Lund (now Arent Fox)

The Opportunity

Posternak Blankstein & Lund LLP (now Arent Fox) worked with BG to promote thought leadership for the firm’s practice leaders. When the story broke for the bankruptcy of the Curt Schilling owned 38 Studios, BG conducted aggressive strategic sourcing and media relations to connect bankruptcy attorney David Reier with well-known local reporters to secure high-profile placements.

The Strategy

After convincing reporters a legal expert would add context to the story, BG quickly provided background information and conducted media training sessions by phone to prepare attorney Reier for his interviews. BG continued to monitor the story as it developed and secured coverage over a five-month period as the case played out.

The Result

BG secured 10 placements and 5 million impressions which included The Boston Business Journal, The Boston Globe, Boston Herald and New England Cable News. The coverage increased awareness of the firm and established its reputation locally, resulting in the firm receiving several inbound client inquires. In addition, BG positioned PBL and David Reier as the authority on the 38 Studios case and bankruptcy filings of that nature.
